Mariane Ibrahim presenta Intersections, una exposición que reúne la obra de Elsa-Louise Manceaux (París, 1985) e Hilda Palafox (Ciudad de México, 1982), ambas radicadas en Ciudad de México. Coincidiendo con el bicentenario de las relaciones diplomáticas entre Francia y México, la exposición reafirma el compromiso de la galería de fomentar conexiones entre las escenas artísticas de ambos países.
En la planta baja, Elsa-Louise Manceaux presenta Surfaces of Exchange, una exposición centrada en una nueva radio-pintura junto con un grupo de pinturas silenciosas. A lo largo de su obra, la pintura, el lenguaje, el sonido y la imagen en movimiento convergen para expandir los límites del medio pictórico. Lejos de concebir la pintura como una imagen estática, Manceaux la aborda como un espacio en el que la palabra escrita y hablada, junto con el video, remodelan continuamente la composición, planteando interrogantes sobre la naturaleza de los medios artísticos, la percepción, la atención y la posibilidad de representar lo intangible.
En la primera planta, Hilda Palafox presenta Petrichor, una serie de obras que profundiza en su investigación sobre el ecofeminismo, la experiencia colectiva y la relación entre el cuerpo y el paisaje. Evocando la humedad de la tierra tras la lluvia y el aroma que desprenden las primeras gotas al tocar el suelo, las pinturas representan figuras femeninas monumentales que se apoyan mutuamente, negocian y trabajan colectivamente hasta fundirse con su entorno. Inspirándose en el legado del muralismo y el modernismo, y abordando las inquietudes contemporáneas, Palafox desarrolla un lenguaje pictórico que imagina nuevas formas de sororidad, solidaridad y coexistencia con el mundo vivo.

On the ground floor, Elsa-Louise Manceaux presents Surfaces of Exchange, an exhibition centered around a new radio-painting alongside a group of silent paintings. Throughout her work, painting, language, sound, and moving image converge to expand the boundaries of the pictorial medium. Far from conceiving painting as a static image, Manceaux approaches it as a space in which the written and spoken word, together with video, continuously reshape the composition, raising questions about the nature of artistic media, perception, attention, and the possibility of representing the intangible.
On the first floor, Hilda Palafox presents Petrichor, a body of work that deepens her ongoing investigation into ecofeminism, collective experience, and the relationship between the body and the landscape. Evoking the dampness of the earth after rainfall and the scent released when the first drops touch the ground, the paintings depict monumental female figures who support one another, negotiate, and labor collectively until they merge with their surroundings. Drawing on the legacies of muralism and modernism while engaging with contemporary concerns, Palafox develops a painterly language that imagines new forms of sisterhood, solidarity, and coexistence with the living world.
