En Notas de voz, el lenguaje aparece en todas sus vocaciones: como voz, como imagen, como texto, como traducción; se configura y reconfigura visualmente en las pinturas, y lo escuchamos “por encima de” paisajes sonoros de la vida cotidiana de la Ciudad de México (“se compran fierros viejos…”). La experiencia que tenemos al contemplar-leer-escuchar Notas de voz reproduce nuestras maneras de comunicarnos cotidianamente. Elsa se pregunta: “¿Cuándo deja el contenido de ser información? ¿Los intercambios de voz son acciones concretas en la vida cotidiana?”.

El lenguaje vehiculado por la voz la coloca transitoriamente como el medio, como el sitio de la relacionalidad. Invita o incorpora al espectador a lo visual, marcando la temporalidad de la relacionalidad de una variedad de agentes que están distantes y que se encuentran en la radio-pintura. La voz (de las notas, la de la artista) funciona como lugar de mediación (Elsa) y como mediador de eventos relacionales unidireccionales (no conocemos las respuestas de Elsa a las interpelaciones de sus amigues).

"In Voice Notes, language appears in all its forms: as voice, as image, as text, as translation; it is visually configured and reconfigured in the paintings, and we hear it “above” the soundscapes of everyday life in Mexico City (“they buy old iron...”). The experience we have when contemplating-reading-listening to Notas de voz reproduces our everyday ways of communicating. Elsa asks herself: “When does content cease to be information? Are voice exchanges concrete actions in everyday life?”

The language conveyed by the voice temporarily places it as the medium, as the site of relationality. It invites or incorporates the viewer into the visual, marking the temporality of the relationality of a variety of agents who are distant and who are found in the radio-painting. The voice (of the notes, that of the artist) functions as a place of mediation (Elsa) and as a mediator of unidirectional relational events (we do not know Elsa's responses to her friends' questions)."
