“During the residency, I am primarily interested in delving deeper into my research on the connections between European modernism and Latin American popular culture, seeking to understand not only their influences but also their tensions and contradictions. I want to take advantage of access to archives and institutions to trace how certain visual languages came to be constructed as universal and, at the same time, to consider how they engage in dialogue with other traditions.”
