Nos complace anunciar que Joaquín Segura ha sido seleccionado para participar en la residencia del Singapore Art Museum.

La práctica de Joaquín Segura se centra en meditaciones sobre la fenomenología de la historia, el poder y la verdad, y dialoga con nociones como los microclimas sociopolíticos, las narrativas asimétricas y la ideología. Sus obras recientes abordan el significado ontológico del extremismo político, el lenguaje y el pensamiento radical, con un énfasis especial en sus materialidades.

Durante su residencia, la investigación de Joaquín examinará la historia cultural de la memoria, la agitación social y la poesía del siglo XX. Al estudiar la interrelación entre conceptos como el silencio, el paisaje y la protesta, pretende apoyarse en la obra del poeta y escritor singapurense Alfian Sa’at como punto de partida para recorrer los paisajes culturales del sudeste asiático.

We are pleased to announce that Joaquín Segura has been selected to participate in the residency at Singapore Art Museum.

Joaquín Segura’s practice is centred on meditations upon the phenomenology of history, power and truth—engaging with notions such as sociopolitical microclimates, asymmetrical narratives and ideology. His recent works address the ontological meaning of political extremism, language and radical thought, with a special emphasis on its materialities.
 
While in residence, Joaquín’s research will examine the cultural history of memory, social unrest and poetry of the 20th century. While studying the interrelation between concepts such as silence, landscape and protest, he intends to build upon the work of Singaporean poet and writer Alfian Sa’at as a starting point to traverse the cultural landscapes of Southeast Asia.
