La exposición establece un diálogo entre obras de la colección del MAMM y prácticas de artistas contemporáneas de la región, tomando como punto de partida el concepto de cuerpo-territorio. La propuesta curatorial nace de la obra Montañas de Débora Arango, en donde la relación entre el cuerpo femenino desnudo y las montañas de Medellín resuena profundamente.

A lo largo de la exposición, el paisaje deviene en personaje y el territorio se transforma en cuerpo. Las obras evocan corporalidades permeables a las historias, las materialidades, las violencias y las resistencias, a lo místico, al deseo y a los afectos. Entre cordilleras, nubes, palmas, manglares y ríos, unos tótems de varias cabezas vigilan, protegen y guían el recorrido, cuidando el recuerdo de un bosque para el cual fueron creados y que hoy ha desaparecido.

The exhibition establishes a dialogue between works from the MAMM collection and the practices of contemporary artists from the region, taking as its point of departure the concept of body-territory. The curatorial proposal stems from Montañas by Débora Arango, in which the relationship between the nude female body and the mountains of Medellín resonates profoundly.

Throughout the exhibition, the landscape becomes a character and the territory transforms into a body. The works evoke corporealities permeable to histories, materialities, violence, and resistance, to the mystical, to desire, and to affections. Amid mountain ranges, clouds, palm trees, mangroves, and rivers, multi-headed totems watch over, protect, and guide the journey, preserving the memory of a forest for which they were created and which has now disappeared.
