About the Fair

Pequod Co is pleased to present a selection of works by Joaquín Segura, brought together here for the first time. Segura, one of the most critically acclaimed artists of his generation, structures his practice around long-term processes of documentary and material research—some of which have already surpassed a decade of continuous revisitation.

The themes that drive Segura’s practice are evident in this concise group of works: the ontology of language, the ambiguity of power, and the agency of detritus itself through its impact on hegemonic narratives. Together, these works offer a transversal reading of a critical and innovative body of production in its politicization of form, while also serving as a prelude to an ambitious institutional project to be presented next fall in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
